Twin Sisters Productions originated in 1986 by twin sisters Kim Mitzo Thompson and Karen Mitzo Hilderbrand. Karen has her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and Kim has her Masters degree in Elementary Education from the University of Akron.

While teaching elementary school, Kim found the need to explore alternative methods to teach basic skills. The drill and test method coupled with worksheets, proved to be boring and frustrating for her students. Capitalizing on the idea that students enjoy music and can memorize their favorite song on the radio in minutes, Kim decided to use music as a means to teach.

The first product produced was "Rap With The Facts: Multiplication" - designed to teach multiplication facts through music, rhythm, and repetition. The success of this tape prompted the formation of Twin Sisters Productions.

The success of Twin Sisters Productions today is the unique and different strengths that Kim and Karen offer the company. Utilizing her background in engineering, warehousing and logistics, Karen runs the operations of the company, while Kim handles product development. Both agree that providing exciting educational materials is important and therefore strive to create new and different products for parent and teachers.

Twin Sisters Productions aims to produce quality educational products while focusing on the need to help abused, neglected, and underprivileged children. The company donates $1.00 from each sale of "Safe & Sound" to The National Center For Missing and Exploited Children. They also support Covenant House, Child Reach, and Christian Children ís Fund. Twin Sisters Productions is hoping to positively impact the lives of children through their products and their support of worthwhile charities.

Mission Statement:

To produce and distribute quality educational products that will provide parents and teachers with the tools that will positively motivate children to learn.
