This is a great classic game that helps children learn new words and to practice spelling and language. It can be played with 2 to 4 players. The price for this game has remained reasonable and it has a lot of value. A deluxe edition is available with a rotating game board on a turntable base and a recessed grid to lock in letter tiles. It is a game that the whole family can play together and have fun.

This classic game was developed by Alfred Mosher Butts and has been played since 1948. He calculated letter frequency on the front page of the New York Times and based the game on the combination of anagrams and crossword puzzle. The Scrabble game has provided family entertainment for 50 years. It is found in homes and in schools throughout the country in different versions. In 1998 a special comemorative edition was created to celebrate Scrabble's 50th anniversary.
