 Corolle Dolls / Bebe Do

Bebe Do is a delightful and easy to hold baby. She is dressed in a beautiful outfit that will make her young mother take her out to play with pride. She has many features that make the Corolle dolls so popular. The doll is lightly scented with vanilla so when a child cuddles her doll it has a pleasing scent. The vanilla scent lasts for the lifetime of the doll because it is a permanent part of the vinyl. In addition, the vinyl is soft and somewhat translucent to have the feel and look of a real child. The eyes are very realistic, with a pupil and iris. The eyes are proportionally correct for the size of the doll’s face. The sleep eyes on Corolle dolls has an internally sealed socket and a sturdy mechanism that withstands repeated use. The soft bodies on Corolle dolls are filled with special synthetic stuffing that is lightweight and very soft. It is washable, dries quickly and will retain its shape and placement. The legs and arms are attached by sewing so they are permanently attached. This extra step greatly adds to the longevity of Corolle dolls. Corolle’s emphasis on aesthetics, quality and playability results in one of the finest dolls on the market, dolls that last through an entire childhood of play, hugs and loving.

In 1979 Catherine and Jacques Refabert founded Corolle. The company is located in the Loire Valley of France, an area known for its storybook castles and an appropriate inspiration for such beautiful dolls. Early Corolle creations included the first realistic baby dolls to be produced in France in nearly 50 years; they were an immediate success both in Europe and the USA, and more Corolle babies soon followed. In 1982, Corolle added a line of toddler dolls representing children of school age, all in extremely beautiful and high fashion clothing with wonderfully styled hair. "Toddler Dolls" continue to be an important part of the line today. Also in the early 1980’s, the first signed and limited Collector dolls began to appear from Corolle. This continues today, where each year’s new offerings include exquisite high fashion dolls designed for collectors.
