Pyramid Twins was originally known as the Pyramid Puzzle. It was invented by E.T. Johnson in 1940 and is now recognized as one of the world’s most ingenious two-piece puzzles. All Uphill was first released by H.G. Silver & Co. of Chicago shaped like an X and using four balls instead of two. The current incarnation was patented by Fred Swithenbank in 1913, and released as the Spoophem by R. Journet in 1929. Pack It-In was originally knows as Conway’s Curious Cube, named after the inventor, mathematician John Conway who invented it in the 1960’s. The Missing T, invented in the late 19th century, is one of the greatest classic puzzles of all time. While the exact origins are unclear, the earliest known T puzzle was an advertising trade card copyrighted in 1898 by Lash, Inc. Wing It was first written about in Professor Hoffmann’s 1893 book, Puzzles Old & New, famous among puzzlers everywhere, included this puzzle. The puzzle, then called the Double Bow and Ring Puzzle, has since been released in many versions using two horseshoes. Loop Trap was Patented by Robert Boomhower in 1968, the Loop Trap puzzle made its first commercial appearance as The Sword Puzzle, a theme-designed version of the idea. The Fifth Chair was recently created by Dale Walton. The elegance of this puzzle is that each successively larger chair contains exactly double the volume of the next smaller chair. Double Square first surfaced in Johnson Smith’s 1934 novelty catalog under the name The Five Block Puzzle. Johnson Smith was famous in the early to mid-20th century for a spectacular variety of puzzles and novelties.
