DC SUPER-HERO TOYS
I'm looking for pictures of molded super-heroes and villains from the late 1960's. They included Superman, Batman, Robin, Joker, and Penguin. They were only a couple of inches in height (like the old green army men). The good guys were fully-colored with removable capes. I believe these were made by Ideal. I have not seen these since I was a little boy, and would like to see pictures of them again.
I have restored a kitchen playset my dad made for me as a child. I'm getting it ready for my children to play with it. I'd like to find decals for it, especially burner decals for the stove. Where could I find such a thing or does it exist?
DESK - CHALK BOARD/PEG BOARD
In the early 1970s, probably 1974-1975, I had a small desk. I believe it was a plastic seat (green maybe) connected to the desk. The desktop was a chalk board - maybe a magnet board as well. Inside, I think the botton of the desk was a pegboard, and it had colorful plastic pegs and a little hammer. I want to say it was by Playskool - but not sure. Does this sound familiar to you?

I have an older Toy that was made by Sears in about 1988. I can't find the name of it. It is the Disneyland Castle with blocks that you put in four different slots that do different functions. DOLL - 1950's
I am looking for a doll I was given in 1955-1957. Very small doll--probably no more than 8'' long- She had a hard head and molded hair. Her head and face were shiny--almost porcelain looking-but I don't think she was-- She had deep blue eyes that opened and closed. She had an opening in her mouth and I believe she cried when you fed her--she had beautiful rosy cheeks. Her body was plastic. Was bought at a Ben Franklin's store in Texas- Any info you might know about this doll would be so greatly appreciated. She was given to me by my grandmother and she was lost when we moved. Thanks very much for your help. Judy

DOLL - 1960's
I am looking for a doll from the 1960's, I would say middle to late 1960's. She is plush all over except her rubber face. Her eyes are open and her makeup is subtle not vibrant. She has a tuft of hair, possible yarn or maybe a bow at the top of her forehead. She has a wind up on her back. I believe she played music, I am not sure if her head moved. She was probably 9 inches tall. I have a picture of a picture if that helps. Thanks for your help. Kim

DOLL - 1970'S to 1980'S
I am looking for a baby doll that I had sometime in very late 1970's to early 1980's. She had the same scent to her as the berenguer babies do. Also she had a rotating head likeThumbelina except she was not wind-up or pull string, she used batteries. The battery compartment was in her lower back. Her middle body was stuffed cloth. I am not sure if her arms, legs and head were vinyl, rubber, or plastic. Her hair was a very soft molded type not the hard molded. Her skin coloring was a darker more brownish white. She may have been oriental, but not sure. Very vaguely do I remember her original clothes, white knit two piece with pink trimming and white booties with pink ribbon. I can't find her anywhere! I would at least like to know who made her and maybe her name.
DOLL - 1980's
I have been trying to find out some more information about a doll that I have grown up with since I was about 2 (1980's onwards) I was given this toy for Christmas in the early 80's I believe and cannot find any marking on her to identify who made her or any thing about her. She is about 40cms in length, is made from dark orange plastic. Her eyes look like glass marbles and her eyes shut when you lay her down. She has curly blonde rooted hair and original came with a blue jacket as I recall. There is no other color to her face and her nose and mouth have no holes in them but are solid features. If you could help me with any information I would be eternally grateful. Your hopefully, Joanne
DOLL - 1980's
i have a doll that i got as a child in the early 1980's. I am trying to find out what she was called and where she came from. She has a plastic or vinyl head, arms and legs and a soft body. her head is completely plastic and bald except for a small patch of hair that is simply yarn. Her eyes close when you move her and they have tiny stars at the top corners of her eyes. There is nothing on her that tells me what she is. on the back of her neck are the letters : b.b. and underneath them it says made in spain. I have been told that she was dressed in a suit when i got her, and her hair/yarn was pink. Her name is baby cindy, but i am not sure if i named her that of if that was her name. I am very interested in finding out where she came from. please e-mail me back, thank you, Rachael
DOLL - 1980S BABY
I'm looking for a doll I loved that was given away when I was still young. I got it in the early 1980s. It was a baby doll, I think soft plastic face/hands but maybe a cloth body. It was in a white dress with white lace and a white bonnet. It didn't "do" anything (although I think the eyes may have opened and closed, but I'm not sure) and it was probably between 11 and 20 inches. If you know what this doll was called, and whether I could find one anywhere, I would love to know.

DOLL - AMPUTEE
This may seem like an odd question, but in a few postings on various newsgroups, the idea of amputee dolls was mentioned. I know there are such things as a Cabbage Patch doll with crutches and leg braces, and a Barbie doll in a wheelchair (which I understand is enormously popular), but I wonder: if someone marketed an amputee fashion doll, i.e., with a prosthetic hook on one arm. Would enough therapists and doctors be interested in them to justify a production run? It would be somewhat helpful to an amputee child's self-image to have a doll that child's self- image to have a doll that is not meant to look freakish, but very much the reverse. Am I on to something here? Please let me know.
DOLL - AMPUTEE - RESPONSE - DR. TOY
There is an organization called LEKOTEK; they would be in a good position to be of assistance on this. They are in Evanston, Illinois. 1-800-366-8697

Her body is light pink, her hands are skin tone, the bottom of her feet are white, her hat or bonnet is white with flowers on it. That is all sewn together and attached to a plastic face. She has a bib that is white with a rocking horse and a circle around the rocking horse. I would like to find another one. Please help! Jolee.

I still have mine and I love it. It feels like it has real bones in it. I don’t believe they still make them though cause I have been looking and haven't found any. Looked on eBay and it seems no one has ever had the doll...it was a great doll though. I think they might have only made it for one year since it was kinda heavy. Holly

DOLL - CRISSY - RESPONSE
Ideal's Crissy was re-issued in 1983 but was made with the Velvet (Crissy's cousin) mold and was only 15" instead of 18" like the original Crissy doll. That doll looked like Velvet but had red hair and was called Crissy. In the later 80s, Ideal still marketed a doll called Baby Crissy but it really wasn't the same doll, it had a very different look and no grow-hair feature. There have been no Crissy dolls produced since then. Hope this helps, Tina.

In 1989 I purchased two dolls from Pic n Save. These dolls were two of five different ones. The dolls had a variety of handicaps (blind with a dog, amputee with wheelchair, deaf with hearing aids, braces on legs, and another amputee with crutches). Each doll came with an iron-on of the group of dolls and it said Hal's Pals. The dolls are soft sculpture and came in a plain brown cardboard box. The only referance to these dolls I can find is through Easter Seals in Ohio. I know they are used to teach children about different handicaps, but I know nothing else about them. I would like to find out as much as I can about them. I have the deaf ballerina and the garden party girl with leg braces.

I have a baby doll all the markings say 1977 Ideal toy corp. and the tag say 4L-0860. There are also numbers on the back of the neck very hard to read either say h-288 or h-268. She had short blonde hair a soft cloth body and when you pull the string on her back she moves her head. She was wearing a light purple jumper with lacy around the wrist and neck. I just wanted some history on her and was wondering her name and if there was somewhere I could look to see what she looked like before I had her. Thanks for your time.
DOLL - IDEAL TOYS - 1974
I just found a 1974 Ideal Doll. She is about 18 inches high and has reversible hair. She can be blond or brunette if you spin her scalp around! Any idea who she might be? She is dressed kind of like Cher in long pea green cape with gold body suit underneath and high heeled green sandals. I can't believe I don't recall her! I would have been ten at the time. Shame on me!
DOLL - IDEAL TOYS - 1974 - RESPONSE
You probably already had a dozen answers to your question - but I believe the doll (depending on her height) is either Tiffany Taylor (taller version) or Tuesday Taylor (smaller Barbie-size version - she had a blue bathing suit and white skirt). Christopher.
DOLL - IDEAL TOYS - 1974 - RESPONSE
I'm pretty sure it's a "Tiffany Taylor" doll. I had one as a pre-teen too at about the same time. You can turn her scalp to change her hair color from blonde to brunette, right? DOLL - JUMPSY
My favorite toy was a Jumpsy Doll. She could jump rope and not fall. I got her around 1971-1973. The most horrible thing happened to her; she was burned up in a fire. My mother never bought me another one, and toy stores don't carry her anymore. Thanks for listening. Vernice.

DOLLS WITH SKATES ON TRACK
Looking for the name of a toy that I was given in the late 1960' to early 1970's. It had a track like the hot wheels cars had, but these were little dolls the had skates. The skates were either already on or you put them on and they were able to go down the track. I know we always had the Sears and J C Penney's Christmas catalogs, so the toy may have came from one of these stores. I hope you can find out what the name of this toy was named. Thank you

DONATION OF TOYS FOR SICK CHILDREN
My husband is the Chaplain at a county. He is planning a program with toys to be given to sick children to ease their fears. There will be themes to this program. Examples include: Bears of Prayer and Heather the Heavenly Hedgehog. What companies might help?
I am a senior at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange New Jersey. Our school has become involved with the Tomorrow's Children's Fund, a program that helps kids plagued with terminal cancer. Our school is involved in every activity that they sponsor. Every December they hold a breakfast with Santa. For the last three years our school has coordinated this event. Food is provided and the kids are kept occupied with games that students help coordinate. Some of our students dress up as elves to entertain the children. The kids get a picture with Santa, but they have never received presents. This year we thought it would be a good idea to hand out small gifts to the children from Santa. We want to hand out toys to these kids, because most of them are dying of cancer, and we don't want them to remember Santa just giving them a candy cane. I want to ask you if you know of any toy companies that are willing to help our cause. I am not asking for free toys; if we need to raise money it would be no problem. What I need are companies that will give us a discount on toys to give to these kids. This is a legitimate cause that will not benefit our school in any way. Everything will go to the Tomorrow's Children's Fund. If you have any information, please e-mail. If you want to get in touch with my school, I will provide you with an address. Thank you for your time and patience in this matter. I hope to hear from you soon.
I am a social work major at Georgia State University and am doing my internship in a nonprofit organization called The Family Tree Resource Center. My task at The Family Tree is to put together a parenting program for the teenage mothers who attend the high school The Family Tree is located in. My budget is very limited, and part of my internship is to put together a small child care center that will be used while student are in the parenting classes. Could you tell me if some of the larger companies like Fisher-Price or Playskool ever donate toys to organization such as The Family Tree? If they do, could you please give me a suggestion on how to accomplish this goal? Thank you.
I'm with the Hancock County Sheriffs reserves. We are in a drive for toys and gifts for children in our county in West Virginia for Christmas. We are a small group who work with our local police department. Our community is very small, but it is a very poor area. Any help you can give will be a blessing. The secretary of sheriffs reserves thanks you.
Downfall was a game for two that I played as a child in the early 1970's. It was made of plastic, and the goal was to move your plastic pieces from the top of the playing surface to the bottom, before the opponent on the backside of the game could do it. Is it made any more? Where could I get a used one? Thanks.

ELECTRONIC ACTION FIGURE - MOTION SENOR WITH HELMET
In the mid 1970s I had an electronic action figure that had a motion sensor wore a helmet with a bright light in it. He wore a red costume with black rubber boots and a cape. He was probably about 18" tall and was quite heavy for a toy. Do you know what this action figure was called? Russell.
ELECTRONIC TOY - TRENDMASTER
I picked up a little electronic toy at a yard sale and I am attempting to identify it: there is nothing stamped on it or on the labels other than "Trendmaster" and a St. Louis address. And 1998. It is a little like a Fruby, with longer ears, about 6" tall with bright orange fur. When fitted with two AA cells and turned on, it is motion sensitive and spouts what sounds like gibberish to me. He has big, ping pong type eyes with movable lids and a log tail with an orange pompom on the end. If you could help me with a name for this critter I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for any and all help. Lisa.

FIGURINES - BOUNCING HEADS
What is the name of the figurines that have a spring for the neck, such that the head bounces about? I have seen "baseball players" on ESPN baseball commercials. Thanks.
FIGURINES - BOUNCING HEADS - RESPONSE
The figurines you're asking about are usually referred to as "bobbleheads" (sometimes hyphenated as "bobble-heads"), and are also known as "nodders," "bobbers," "bobbinheads," and "bobblers." Some claim they originated in 17th-century China, but the earliest mass-produced bobbleheads date to the 1920s. They were popular sports novelties and promotional items with their heyday in the early 1960s, but have had a major renascence as sports collectibles (both vintage and newly manufactured) since about 1999. A web search will turn up dozens if not hundreds of manufacturers, retailers, and collectors. Best wishes, Butch & Co.
FIGURINES - BUNNY
I am trying to find out the name of a toy I had in the mid 1970's. There were different figurines but the one I still have is a bunny whose head moves when you press or hit a metal rod that comes out of the bottom. I know at one time I had another bunny that was holding a baby bunny and when you tapped it on the floor the metal rod made the bunny rock the baby. These are about 3 inches tall and made out of a hard vinyl. I don't believe they are plastic. I can't remember if there is more such as a set, house etc. I do know that I had more than just the one bunny. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Nicole
I am trying to find Finger Blasters. The toy is a foam tube about one inch in diameter and about six inches in length, with fins on the rear. At the tip is attached a rubber band that you hold. In the rear, the tube has a hole to insert your finger into. You pull the "blaster and rubber band" tight, then let go. The last time I saw them was at a summer camp in 1997. I have tried the major toy stores, and they have no clue.
FINGER BLASTERS - RESPONSE
I saw that you at one time were looking for finger blasters. Here is what I found. http://www.recfx.com/shopping/fingerblaster.htm
FIRE BOAT - FISHER PRICE
I am asking for your help. When I was a kid I had a toy fire boat. My mother told me it was Fisher Price. I believe It was a toy from the 1970's. In about 1980 my brother destroyed the boat and since then I have been looking for it. The boat had a orange plastic bottom the top was white and it had a nozzle that was yellow. If you could give more information or if you can tell where I can find this boat I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your help. Brian
I don't remember where, but I know I've seen toy fish! I believe they work on magnetics; the fish maintain buoyancy somehow, too. But you put them in an aquarium and you have maintenance-free fish! Any ideas where I might find them? Thanks for your time, Henry.
FISH - RESPONSE
There are similar fish in the Oriental Trading Company catalog. They sell some in an aquarium. There are also some attached with a string to a clear plastic bubble When you put those in a fishbowl with water, it appears they are swimming. Catalogs can be requested at 1-800-228-2269.

FLEXIFLYER - 1950's
I asked awhile back about a Flexiflyer. It was around in the early 1950's. It was a sled with wheels as we lived in So. California and didn't have snow. I know of two that existed. My brother had one and his best friend had the other. Do you know anything about it? Please let me know.Thank you, Martha
I have been pulling out what's left of my hair trying to find an info or pictures of a flying eagle or hawk toy from I believe the 70's or late 60's. It was made of Styrofoam, about a 14 inch wingspan, with several hard yellow plastic parts that had to be assembled. You would attach a string to a clip on the underside of the bird, pull it so it would rise into the air, give a tug on the string which would detach, and the bird would glide back to the ground. I had this toy as a child and would love to know anything that you can find out about it. Thanks in advance, John
FLYING TOY - THREE BLADED HELICOPTER
Where can I buy a flying toy like this: a balloon is blown up, attached to a simple three bladed helicopter; when released, it flies into the air, propelled by the air from the balloon rushing over the three blades. It also whistles as it rises.
FOAM RUBBER STICK KIT
In the 1960's I had a kit that was comprised of little foam rubber sticks that you could press together (they were sticky). They came in different colors and if they got dirty they lost their ability to stick together. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the toy. Any Ideas? Thanks Diane.

Where can I find a Cap Toy's Black Bomb? It resembles a Nerf football, and has a plastic ring around the center. I bought one in 1997 and have been unable to find a replacement. Thank you, Vince.
FORKLIFT RIDING TOY
I received a catalog in the mail with a picture on the cover of a child sitting on a large forklift riding toy which had a hand powered crank to move the fork part up and down. It looked like it was made of the same type of plastic as a Little Tykes or Step 2 toy. I'm hoping someone knows where to order this. It is the only gift my five year old wants, and I lost the catalog.
